      Τώρα μπορούμε  να  εγκαταστήσουμε τους  κλειστούς  drivers  για  AMD  ή  NVidia. Όποιος  ΔΕΝ  έχει  ανεξάρτητη  κάρτα γραφικών , ΔΕΝ  θα έχει  και  τα desktop effects. Παρακάτω ,  φαίνεται η  εγκτάσταση  του  AMD  linux driver  8.93  ( 12.1 )

      Και  κάτι  τελευταίο , αλλά  πολύ  βασικό. Κατά  την  αρχική  εγκτάσταση  από  το  live-dvd στο linux  command prompt  πρέπει  να  δώσουμε  YΠΟΧΡΕΩΤΙΚΑ  τις  παραμέτρους 
               xforcevesa  nomodeset   για  να  μην  έχουμε  πρόβλημα  με το GUI  ( περιβάλλον CLI ) ,  ενώ  στον  grub 2  ή  grub 1  ( ανάλογα  τί  χρησιμοποιούμε ) προσθέτουμε  απαραιτήτως  πάλι  την  παράμετρο 
               nomodeset  στη  γραμμή  για τον  linux kernel.

   Τα  παραπάνω  ισχύουν  τόσο για  AMD  όσο & NVidia.

   H  εντολή  lsb_release -a  δίνει κάποια  στοιχεία για  την  έκδοση  του  Ubuntu

να υποθέσω ότι σε κάτι μπορεί να φάνηκαν χρήσιμα , τα παραπάνω ? μια προσπάθεια ενθάρρυνσης στους νέους χρήστες να χρησιμοποιούν το τερματικό & μερικές απλές συμβουλές για να ξεπεράσουν κάποια προβλήματα με το GUI , όταν κάνουν εγκατάσταση τους κλειστούς drivers AMD ή NVidia , τόσο για το Ubuntu όσο & για τα υπόλοιπα Linux.
