Περίεργο πρόβλημα με τον X και το kdm

Έχω Mandriva με KDE4. Ξαφνικά, μετά από εκκίνηση, αντί να ανοίξει ο x server και να βγει η οθόνη σύνδεσης, βγαίνει το logo της NVidia και μετά μαύρη οθόνη. με ctrl-alt-F1 συνδέομαι και ξεκινώ τον xserver κανονικά με kde4. στα logs βρίσκω πολλά σαν το ακόλουθο
localhost kdm[3225]: X server for display :0 cannot be started, session disabled
Με επανεγκατάσταση των drivers της nvidia διορθώθηκε προσωρινά. Επίσης ο xdm δουλεύει κανονικά. Τι συμβαίνει άραγε;
